Radio + Digital

Your Trusted, Local Digital Partners

DeWayne Shake is a lifelong resident of Washington and Daviess County. He grew up listening to the local radio station with Doc Cabel, Zane and the crew on WAMW every morning before heading out for school. By the age of 14, he started work at the Washington Little League, now known as Chuck Harmon Youth League, where he would announce ball games every night during the summer and served as groundskeeper for the field. DeWayne was “discovered” by a local family who were friends with the owner of the radio station and suggested he apply for a job. It was there he began 30 years ago, in the exciting world of Radio and Broadcasting.

Always working locally, DeWayne has been fortunate to work alongside many mentors over the years and is grateful to have had that experience that has led him to where he is today. In 2020, DeWayne and his wife Shelly purchased WAMW AM / FM from DLC Media Inc and took over the local hometown station. In 2022, the Shake’s added a third station to the operation, WRZR-FM in Loogootee. Today the Shakes have added their son, Cannon, to the operation and he now serves as the news director for the company. The Shake Family takes pride in being the hometown local stations for high school sports, local news and information, and being active in many groups and organizations in our local communities.

As DeWayne says daily, he is “living the dream!”
